These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the services provided by German 1-on-1 (“we”, “us”, “our”) through https://german1on1.com.
By booking a lesson or purchasing a lesson package, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Services
German 1-on-1 provides online German language tutoring services, including:
- Individual online lessons
- Lesson packages
- 1 Free consultation session per client
- Additional educational services that may be introduced in the future
All lessons are conducted online.
3. Eligibility
Services are intended for individuals who are at least 18 years old.
By booking a lesson, you confirm that you are legally capable of entering into binding agreements.
4. Booking and Payment
Lessons and lesson packages must be paid in full at the time of booking through the available payment methods on our website.
Bookings are confirmed only after successful payment.
Prices displayed on the website are subject to change at any time, but changes will not affect bookings already confirmed.
5. Lesson Duration
Standard lessons have a duration of approximately 50 minutes unless otherwise stated.
6. Lesson Packages
German 1-on-1 may offer discounted lesson packages, including but not limited to:
- 6-lesson packages
- 12-lesson packages
- 24-lesson packages
Lesson packages are offered at a discounted rate compared to individual lessons and are therefore subject to special conditions.
All lesson packages expire six (6) months after the date of purchase. Any unused lessons remaining after the expiration date will be forfeited and cannot be refunded, exchanged, or credited.
Discounted lesson packages are non-refundable once purchased.
If a client decides to discontinue lessons before using all lessons included in a package, the remaining unused lessons may be transferred to another individual. The client is responsible for arranging such a transfer. German 1-on-1 must be notified of the transfer and reserves the right to update account and booking information as necessary.
Lesson packages may not be split between multiple individuals and may only be transferred in their entirety or with their remaining unused lesson balance.
German 1-on-1 reserves the right to discontinue package offerings in the future. Such changes will not affect lesson packages that have already been purchased.
7. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
Clients may cancel or reschedule lessons free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled lesson start time using the booking system or rescheduling link provided.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson are considered late cancellations and the lesson will be charged in full.
For lessons booked as part of a lesson package, a late cancellation or no-show will result in the relevant lesson being deducted from the client’s remaining lesson balance.
If a client fails to attend a scheduled lesson without prior notice, the lesson will be considered completed and no refund, replacement lesson, or lesson credit will be provided.
8. Refund Policy
Completed lessons are non-refundable.
Individual lessons that have been purchased but have not yet been booked may be refunded upon request.
Once an individual lesson has been booked, it becomes non-refundable. If the lesson is cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time, the client may choose either:
- to reschedule the lesson, or
- to receive a lesson credit for future use.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson start time are considered late cancellations. In such cases, the lesson will be charged in full and no refund, lesson credit, or replacement lesson will be provided.
Discounted lesson packages are non-refundable once purchased.
Clients who no longer wish to continue lessons may transfer any remaining unused lessons in their package to another individual in accordance with Section 6 of these Terms & Conditions.
Nothing in this policy affects any mandatory consumer rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Teacher Cancellation
If German 1-on-1 must cancel a lesson, the client will be offered either:
- a rescheduled lesson, or
- a lesson credit for future use
We will make reasonable efforts to notify clients as soon as possible.
10. Withdrawal Right for EU Consumers
Under EU consumer protection law, consumers may generally have a statutory 14-day withdrawal right for online purchases.
However, by booking lessons or purchasing lesson packages with a scheduled start date within the withdrawal period, you expressly request the immediate performance of the service and acknowledge that your withdrawal right may be reduced or lost once the service has begun.
If services have already been partially provided before a withdrawal request is made, German 1-on-1 may retain an amount proportional to the services already delivered.
11. Conduct and Termination
German 1-on-1 reserves the right to suspend or terminate services, refuse bookings, or cancel lesson packages without refund in cases involving:
- harassment or abusive behavior
- inappropriate conduct
- discrimination or hate speech
- repeated no-shows
- repeated late cancellations
- fraudulent activity
- non-payment
- misuse of the platform or services
Clients are expected to maintain respectful and professional behavior during all interactions and lessons.
12. Educational Disclaimer
German 1-on-1 provides educational and tutoring services only.
We do not guarantee:
- exam results
- language certification outcomes
- employment outcomes
- fluency levels
- specific learning results
Individual progress depends on many factors, including personal effort, consistency, and prior language experience.
13. Technology and Availability
Clients are responsible for ensuring they have:
- a stable internet connection
- suitable hardware/software
- access to Google Meet or other required platforms
German 1-on-1 is not responsible for interruptions caused by third-party services, internet outages, or technical issues outside our reasonable control.
14. Privacy and Data Protection
Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy available at:

15. Intellectual Property
Educational materials provided during lessons remain the intellectual property of German 1-on-1 unless otherwise stated.
Materials may not be redistributed, reproduced, or commercially reused without written permission.
16. Future Service Changes
German 1-on-1 reserves the right to modify, expand, discontinue, or update services, lesson formats, pricing structures, and package offerings at any time.
Changes will not retroactively affect confirmed bookings or already purchased lessons unless required by law.
17. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights applicable under the laws of the customer’s country of residence within the European Union.
